Whit is BGMDB ?
Growing evidence indicates that gut microbiota play a crucial role in the onset and progression of brain diseases, with neurotransmitters serving as key mediators in the gut-brain axis interaction. To facilitate the exploration of this complex mechanism, we have manually curated a database named BGMDB. This database compiles experimentally supported data from various fields and currently documents 1,419 associations between 609 microbiota and 43 brain diseases.
Each entry in the database includes detailed information on the disease and microbiota involved, the experimental samples used, the analysis platform, changes in microbiota, and reference literature. Users can utilize BGMDB to explore the relationships between specific diseases and microbiota and to identify neurotransmitters that may be linked to these interactions. BGMDB features a user-friendly interface and is freely accessible, enabling in-depth research on the gut-brain axis and supporting the prevention and treatment of related diseases. This database serves as a valuable resource for the study of gut microbiota and brain diseases and is poised to make a significant contribution to bioinformatics research.
